Obituary for Linda June Meyer

Linda June (Ciccarelli) Meyer, aged 68, passed away on Saturday at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua after bravely facing a period of declining health and illness. Linda's resilience and strength allowed her to persevere against all odds, exceeding expectations and enduring for many more years than anticipated.

Born in Boston on October 5th, 1955, Linda was the eldest of five children to the late Benjamin and Dolores Ciccarelli. Raised in Somerville, she spent summers on the Cape, creating her most cherished childhood memories. Linda grew up participating in drama and garnered numerous awards for her acting roles. If you knew Linda, it should come as no surprise that she had a flair for the dramatic!

In 1978, Linda moved to Billerica, where she lived for over 35 years before settling in Nashua for the remainder of her life. A prominent figure in Billerica, Linda was a community leader who, as a mother, felt a playground was essential for the town. Consequently, she founded the Kids Konnection playground and served as its board of directors' President.

Active in making Billerica an exceptional community, Linda was a former Town Meeting member, Chamber of Commerce leader, and campaign manager for Billerica selectmen and state reps. She led children's playgroups, volunteered with the Billerica library and school system, and she was a girl scout leader and dedicated dance and soccer mom. Linda's enormous heart and generous spirit endeared her to friends wherever she went.

While Linda had various professional roles, from Vice President at ADT to managing a dog grooming salon, her favorite roles were as a homemaker, mother, and, most recently, a Nona. Affectionately known as Tron or Madre by her children, Linda's gullibility and easy-to-prank nature were balanced by her incredible sense of humor.

Linda's interests included cooking (especially Italian food), crossword puzzles, canasta, bingo, keno, and relaxing on the beach. An avid animal lover, she is now reunited with her beloved Hallie, her four-pawed best friend rescued with her daughter. Above all, Linda loved nothing more than spending time with her family.

Linda is survived by her beloved daughter, Janelle Turgeon, and her husband Chris of Merrimack, NH; her beloved son, Johnny Meyer, his wife Nicole, of North Reading and their son, Christopher John, the light of her life; her cherished siblings, sisters Lissa Ciccarelli and Lorna Ciccarelli-McGowan and her husband Chris, all of Burlington, brothers Richard Ciccarelli, his wife Linda and their children Greg and Rachael of Collegeville, PA, and Robert Ciccarelli and his wife Andrea of Tuftonboro, NH. Linda also leaves behind her beloved dog, Emmie, as well as many friends and relatives whom she loved with her whole heart.

Visiting hours and a service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held Monday, Jan. 22, at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. In honor of Linda, a pop of purple attire is encouraged. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ‘Fight No Meyer What’, benefitting the American Cancer society and to honor her son Johnny’s battle with cancer.
