Leonard P. Sullivan Sr., age 93, beloved husband of the late Barbara A. (Klemm) Sullivan died Thursday at Sunny Acres Nursing and Rehab in Chelmsford after a period of declining health.
He was born in Berlin, NH, May 17, 1931, a son of the late John and Helen (May) Sullivan. He lived in Waltham and Belmont before moving to Billerica in 1959.
Leonard was a repairman for several business equipment companies, most recently Associated Business Equipment. He was also a limousine driver for Boston Coach from 1986 – 2008, driving evening hours. He will be remembered as an avid golfer who played well into his 80’s.
He is survived by one daughter, Patricia Harty and her husband Mario Mogranesi of Welaka, FL; three sons, Leonard P. Sullivan Jr. and his wife Robin of Methuen, James D. Sullivan of Billerica, and Brian Sullivan and his husband Khoi Truong of San Francisco, CA; three grandchildren, Leonard III and his wife Cassandra, Andrew and his wife Anthi, and Kathleen and her husband Mike, as well as seven great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Thomas Sullivan.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, November 24, at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 1 – 4 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, November 25, at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Interment in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org
