Obituary for Leon R. Garrant
BELMONT, NH – Leon “Lee” R. Garrant, age 85, beloved husband of Kathleen (Berry) Garrant and the late Rosalee I (Hart) Garrant died Monday at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, NH.
He was born in New Bedford, May 29, 1933 a son of the late Leon R. and Mary A. (Denault) Garrant and was a longtime Billerica resident before moving to Belmont, NH 13 years ago.
Mr. Garrant served in the US Coast Guard and was a Water Treatment Supervisor for several local municipalities including Billerica and most recently for the Town of Tewksbury. He was a member of the East Wind Assn. a former member of the Billerica Lodge of Elks.
Besides his wife he is survived by five daughters, Lorraine Barton and her husband Scott of Hudson, MA, Irene SanSoucie and her husband Thomas of Nashua, NH, Jacqueline Kinsley and her husband Brian of Billerica, Andrea Hoyt and her husband Harry of Tyngsboro and Karen Collins and her fiancée Eric Gorby of Hudson, NH as well as 10 grandchildren Michael Marchand, Dominique Marchand, T.J. SanSoucie, Dawn and Jeff Newhook, Jason and Jill SanSoucie, Brian and Stephanie Kinsley, Erin Kinsley, Shannon Kinsley, Tyler Hoyt and Zachary Hoyt, 8 great-grandchildren Brady Iarussi, Jonathan Richer, Jacob SanSoucie, Gregory Pelletier, Talia SanSoucie, Ella SanSoucie, Brooke Kinsley and John Kinsley and 2 great-great-grandchildren Declan and Adrian. He was the father of the late Joyce McClellan, grandfather of the late Sean Kinsley, great-grandfather of the late Grace SanSoucie and brother of the late Donald and Thomas Garrant and Marylou Desrosiers.

Funeral Friday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Theresa Church, Billerica at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4 – 7 p.m. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Assn., 1661 Worcester Rd., Framingham, MA 01701.
