Obituary for Lawrence E. Christianson
Lawrence E. “Larry” Christianson, age 85, beloved husband of 55 years to Patricia (Cadigan) Christianson died unexpectedly Sunday at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington.
He was born in Revere, September 4, 1931 a son of the late Mildred (Walsh) Christianson and lived in Somerville prior to moving to Billerica over 25 years ago.
Mr. Christianson served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1949-1952 and then again from 1955 – 1958 attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a dedicated past Post Commander of the VFW, Dilboy Post 529 in Somerville for many years and was an active member of the DAV in Billerica.
Larry worked for many years in the Charlestown Navy Yard as a heavy machine operator but for most of his career he was a long haul truck driver for Teamsters Local #25 and #42.
Besides his wife he was the loving father of five daughters, Christine Cook and her husband Donald of Tyngsboro, Doreen D’Agostino and her husband Paul of Lynnfield, Pauline Garrity and her husband Stephen of Chelmsford and Charlene Lear and her husband Tim of Billerica and the late Eileen Christianson. Proud grandfather of Michael and Cathryn Cook, Paul and Christian D’Agostino, and Erin, Shannon and Kira Garrity. Brother of Robert Christianson of Salem, NH and Mildred Tobey of Melrose as well as many beautiful nieces, nephews and longtime friends.

Funeral Thursday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Theresa Church, Billerica at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4 – 7 p.m. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assn., P.O.
