Laura R. (Cormier) Bova, age 88, beloved wife of the late Joseph Bova, died Sunday at the Sawtelle Hospice House surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness.
She was born in Cambridge, June 8, 1934 a daughter of the late Arcade and Irene (Cormier) Cormier and lived in Connecticut before moving to Billerica in 1950.
Laura’s joy in life came from raising her 6 children as well as time well spent with her grand, great-grand and great-great grandchildren.
She is survived by one son Donald Bova and his wife Wendy of Sandown, NH; four daughters, Darlene Paiva of North Port, FL, Donna Walker and her husband Michael , Lisa Santos and her fiancé Tony DaCosta and Laurie Knight and her husband Ron all of Billerica; two sisters, Jeannette Albert of NH and Beatrice Bilodeau of NC; twelve grandchildren, Billy, Audrey, Michelle, Donald, Christopher, Matthew, Brittany, Brandon, Ashley, Andrew, Tom and Erik as well as 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters. She was the mother of the late Joseph P. Bova and grandmother of the late Michael Walker.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, March 2, at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, March 3 at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish in St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org
