Obituary for Kevin J. Collins
BILLERICA – Kevin J. Collins, age 75, beloved husband of Joan A. (Doyle) Collins died Friday at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center. He was born in Boston, Sept. 17, 1938, a son of the late Charles D. and Margaret (MacGillivary) Collins and lived in Allston before moving to Billerica in 1976. Mr. Collins was a graduate of Boston College High School and Boston College was in the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant and served with the Green Berets. He was a salesman in the telephone industry, taught CCD at St. Mary’s Church in Billerica, was a longtime Town Meeting Member and was a founding member of the Billerica Museum Committee. Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Susannah Collins of Burlington and Emily Collins and her husband Michael D’Agostino of Billerica; one son, Matthew Collins and his wife Lisa of Lowell; one sister, Jane Waters and her husband William of Darien, CT and three grandchildren, Devin Collins, Jason D’Agostino and Alannah Collins. He was also the brother of the late Charles R. Collins. COLLINS – Of Billerica, formerly of Allston, Feb. 7, Kevin J. Collins. Funeral Tuesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary’s Church, Billerica at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hour will be held Monday from 4 – 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Asthma Foundation of America 109 Highland Ave., Needham, MA 02494 Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
