Obituary for Kenneth E. Hall
Kenneth E. Hall – Age 72, beloved husband of Dorothy A. (Roberto) Hall died Tuesday at the Emerson Hospital in Concord. Dorothy says her life will never be the same He was born in Everett, April 13, 1941, the son of the late Edward and Evelyn (Brown) Hall. He grew up in N. Reading and lived for a time in Lowell. He moved to Billerica in 1973 and considered himself a Billerica townie. He enjoyed his daily interactions around Billerica. He could be seen walking Ninja and then Chief and finally Craizy Daisy at the Vietnam Veterans Park. Mr. Hall served in the Navy on Guam and at the Chelsea Naval Hospital. He was employed for the International Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers Union (Local #6) for 20 years. He later worked at the Ayotte Garage in Lowell as an events coordinator. Ken served on the Executive Board for Local 6 and believed the only protection for the working class was the union. Ken was a peaceful, patient and respectful man, but always stood up to a bully. Ken was the guy who got the wood in for the winter and made sure the chimney was swept. He was well like on the job and in his dealings in Billerica. Before his illness he liked to ride his motorcycle and cross country ski. His wife would like to thank his good friends Rudy,Kenny and Dick and the nurses on Emerson’s 6th floor who took such good care of him. Especially the two strong attendants from Kenya for their compassion and patience helping Ken maintain his dignity on one of the nights before his death. Ken would have done the same for anyone. Ken was in a lot of pain during his illness but he bore it stoically. Ken was what the old timers used to call the Salt of the Earth and will be missed. Besides his wife, Mr. Hall is survived by his brother, Robert Hall and his wife Marcia of Newport, NH; his sister, Ruth Ann Primeau of Dunstable and his nephew, Vance Hall of Newport, NH who was very helpful to him during his illness. He was also a special uncle to his predeceased sister Gail’s children, Tony, Jay, Tracy and David. HALL – Of Billerica, Oct. 15, Kenneth E. Hall, Visiting hours will be held Saturday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 1-4 p.m. Funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lowell Humane Society, 951 Broadway St., Lowell, MA 01854.
