Obituary for Katherine L. Miller
BILLERICA – Katherine L. (O’Meara) Miller, age 80, died peacefully Thursday at her home after a brief illness with family by her side. She was born in Somerville, February 19, 1934 a daughter of the late James E. and Jessie M. (Ross) O’Meara and lived in Somerville before moving to Billerica in 1959. Mrs. Miller was very active and had many interests. Katherine reluctantly retired just a few years ago from Mass-Vac of Billerica where she had been Office Manager for many years. She was a talented seamstress, who enjoyed sewing clothes, and making window treatments. Katherine was a gourmet cook who adventurously tried new recipes as well as perfected recipes that had been in her family for many generations. Most recently during her retirement, she adored the companionship of her dog Riley, and looked forward to their daily walks. She was an avid reader, and gardener who appreciated the beautiful plantings in her garden. She is survived by two sons, Robert Miller of West Warwick, RI and Paul Miller and his wife Katherine of Billerica; one daughter, Mary Ellen Crosby and her husband William of Middleton; two sisters, Mary Perron and her husband Paul of Merrimack, NH and Margaret O’Meara of Westwood, as well as nine grandchildren, Meghan, Shawn, Joshua, Lauren, Jessica, Patrick, Casey, Connor and Jake as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Maureen Miller, sister of the late James Michael O’Meara and aunt of the late Kristen O’Meara. MILLER – Of Billerica, formerly of Somerville, Nov. 20, Katherine L. (O’Meara) Miller. A Memorial Visitation will be held Monday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 5 – 7 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923 Burial in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
