June A. Coates – Age 89, wife of the late Russell D. Coates died Thursday, December 19 at the Pines of Newmarket in Newmarket, NH.
She was born in Madison, ME, May 19, 1935, daughter of the late Robert J. and Irene C. (White) Powers and lived in Watertown and Burlington before moving to Billerica in 1997.
June was employed for Shaw’s supermarket for over 50 years in Waltham, working in many departments. She was a long-time employee only retiring five years ago. She was an avid reader always loved a good mystery novel. June was a world traveler, she especially loved Hawaii visiting many times with family and friends. She enjoyed many summers at Arcadia Campground in New Hampshire. She had many fun times and lived a good life.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Morrissey and her husband Robert of Billerica, her sons, Mark Coates and his wife Patti of GA and Michael Coates. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Jake, Kathryn, and Kyle. She was the sister of the late Roland Powers and Robert Powers.
A Funeral Mass for June will be held Friday, January 3 at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m.
