Obituary for June E. Cunningham
June E. (Donovan) Cunningham, age 87, beloved wife of Harold James Cunningham died Friday at their home with her family by her side after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Malden, December 30, 1933 a daughter of the late John and Edythe (Smith) Donovan and lived in Malden, Winchester and Medford before moving to Billerica 53 years ago.
June worked as a phone operator for AT&T for 28 years retiring in 1987 and was a lifelong member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Her true joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren of whom she was extremely proud.
Besides her husband she is survived by one son, John “Jack” Cunningham and his wife Elizabeth of Windham, NH; two daughters, Maureen Johnson and her husband Thomas of Billerica and Paula Honeywell and her husband Bernard of New Ipswich, NH as well as he 10 grandchildren, Olivia, Alexandra, Callahan, Nolan, Kelsey, Delaney, Aureese, Phoebe, Brody and Oaken and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Daniel J. Cunningham and sister of the late Terry and his wife Henriette Donovan.
A Funeral Mass will be held Monday at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish in St. Theresa Church, 496 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Per current CDC and State Guidelines face coverings will be required and attendees must sign up to attend the Funeral Mass at https://cli.re/ccb-funeral-signup Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica It being her request there will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham MA 01701.
