Obituary for Joseph R. Capen Sr.
BILLERICA – Joseph R. Capen Sr., age 69, beloved husband of Lorraine M. (St. George) Capen died Tuesday at the home of his daughter with his family by his side. He was born in Billerica, February 28, 1944, a son of the late Ralph and Gladys (Fournier) Capen and lived in Billerica his whole life before retiring in Chandler, AZ for the last 10 years. Mr. Capen served as a door gunner in the Vietnam War earning the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Silver Star and 56 Air Medals. He was employed locally for several auto shops as a mechanic and was a member of the VFW Solomon Post and the DAV. Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Joseph Capen Jr. and his significant other Michelle Diggs of Billerica; one daughter, Sherry Mitchell and her husband Todd of Billerica,; one sister, Jean Ostler of Cambridge; five grandchildren, T.J., Kaylia, Savannah, and Isabella Mitchell and Noah Capen. He was the brother of the late James Capen, Elizabeth Sanborn and Jackie Batchelder. CAPEN – Of Billerica and Chandler, AZ, Nov 19, Joseph R.
