Obituary for Joseph P. Hammond
Joseph P. Hammond – Age 76, husband of the late Teresa M. (Trant) Hammond died Tuesday at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington surrounded by his family. He was born in Somerville, July 2, 1936, the son of the late James and Ruth (Glover) Hammond and lived in Somerville and Cambridge before moving to Billerica in 1960. Mr. Hammond was the owner of Merrimack Valley Alarm for over 25 years and later worked as a Security Officer for the Boston Globe. He was also a Special Police Officer for the Town of Billerica. He is survived by his daughters, Teresae Casey and her husband Michael Giles of Billerica, Joanne Corbett and her husband Keith of Alton, NH and Susan Eldridge and her husband Lang of Wakefield, NH; his brother, James Hammond of KY; his best friend, Francis Carmichael of Arlington and 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. HAMMOND – Of Billerica, Nov. 20, Joseph P. Hammond, Funeral Saturday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd. Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew’s Church, Talbot Ave., N. Billerica at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held will be held Friday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or the American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
