Joseph A. McComiskey, age 85, beloved husband of 63 years of Patricia M. (Champlin) McComiskey died Monday at Winchester Hospital with his family by his side after a period of declining health.
He was born in Chelsea, January 10, 1941 son of the late Ernest and Florence (MacQuilken) McComiskey and lived in Burlington and Woburn before moving to Billerica 18 years ago.
Joe worked as an Architect for many years (most recently for The TJX Companies Inc.) after learning the trade at the Boston Architecture Club and was a longtime member of the Woburn Breakfast Lions Club where he served as President, Secretary, and other club officers as well as a member of the Billerica Rod and Gun Club.
Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Judith Gibbons and her husband Joseph Sr. of Woburn and Cathleen Lomasney and her husband Brian of Billerica; two sons Thomas McComiskey and his wife Vikki of Milford and Tim McComiskey and his wife Bonnie of Northbridge; one brother Robert McComiskey of Strafford, NH; ten grandchildren, Christopher, Courtney, Caitlin, Michelle, Joseph Jr., Emily, Rachael, Sara, Cora and Marisa as well as his three great-grandchildren, Mila, Rowan and Liam. He was the brother of the late Mary Amico, Patricia McHatton and James and Peter McComiskey
Visiting hours will be held Friday, January 23, 2026 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday January 24, 2026 at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Andrew Church, 45 Talbot Ave., North Billerica at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
