Obituary for Joseph P. Shea Sr.
Joseph P. Shea Sr. – Age 85, beloved husband of Mary T. (Murray) Shea died Wednesday at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley.
He was born in Medford, December 31, 1932, a son of the late John and Elizabeth Shea and has been a resident of Billerica for 64 years. Mr. Shea proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He was employed as a Plasterer for many companies in the area prior to his retirement.
He was and avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. He often would take camping and road trips with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He loved to work in his garden and supplied many friends and family with tomatoes, his babies, as he lovingly called them. Even up to his final days he was full of spunk and shared his laughter with his family.

Besides his wife, Mr. Shea is survived by his sons, Joseph Shea Jr. and his wife Kathy of Danvers, Michael Shea of Billerica and Shawn Shea and his wife Lizbeth also of Billerica; his brother, Patrick Shea of Malden; his sisters, Claire Upperman of FL and Gertrude Fleming of WY; his grandchildren, Danielle Dolan and her husband Jack and Shawn Shea Jr. and his great grandchildren, Kenadie, Cameron and Shea Dolan.
SHEA – Of Billerica, July 25, Joseph P. Shea Sr., Visiting hours will be held Friday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4-7 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Memorial contributions may be made to The National Audubon Society, www.audubon.org.
