Obituary for Joseph F. Errico
Joseph F. Errico, age 86, beloved husband of Phyllis (Borrero) Errico, died Thursday, November 25, 2021 at their home with his family by his side, after a brief illness.
He was born in Arlington, MA, August 3, 1935 son of the late Joseph and Frances (Gallucci) Errico and lived in Arlington until moving to Billerica 61 years ago.
He was a graduate of Boston University and was a talented, well-known local photographer and owner of Errico Studio in Somerville, MA. He specialized in weddings, portraits and school photography.
His true joy came from spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was always happy to dance and sing at family gatherings, especially to Frank Sinatra. He took great pride in the trees and gardens he planted over the years. He loved driving with his wife, Phyllis to spend time in parks and other special places. Their favorite was Great Island Common in Newcastle, NH.
Besides his wife, he is survived by five children, AnnMarie Errico and Simon Dixon of North Andover, David Errico and Debbie Callery of Lowell, Joanne Ingle and Douglas LaChapelle of Simsbury, CT, Joseph Errico and Mildre’ of Portsmouth, NH and Laura Dames and Mark of Atlanta, GA. He very much loved his seven grandchildren Jessica, Samuel, Adam, Jake, Elisa, Cameron and Kurt. He was the brother of Paul Errico and the late Priscilla Hamel, Jean Marie McManus and Richard Errico.
He was a kind, wonderful man with a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral Monday from the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. A Graveside Service will be held at the Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 1 – 4 p.m. Masks are required while indoors. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org
