Obituary for John M. Leonard
John M. Leonard – Age 88, beloved husband of Madeline F. (Mohan) Leonard died Friday at their home surrounded by his family. Mr. Leonard was born in W. Rutland, VT, October 24, 1924, the son of the late Paul and Corinne (Choquette) Leonard. He was raised in Vermont before entering the military and moved to Billerica in 1964. He served in the U.S. Air Force for over 20 years having served in both WW II and the Korean War. After the military Mr. Leonard worked as a Machinist before his retirement and enjoyed woodworking, cooking and spending time with his family. Besides his wife of 57 years, Mr. Leonard is survived by his sons, John Leonard and his wife Lynda of Windsor, CA, Paul Leonard and his companion Elizabeth Martin of Boston and Larry Leonard of Turlock, CA; his daughters, Marie Patterson, Corinne Gallagher and her husband Robert and Kelly Muzzy all of Billerica and Kathleen Leonard of Townsend; his grandchildren, Christopher Leonard, Jonathan Leonard, Meghan and Frankie Patterson, Bailey Burrows, Kaitlyn, Kyle and Kristen Miklinevich, Erin, Jenna and Kelly Gallagher and Dean and Casey Muzzy. Mr. Leonard was the grandfather of the late Danielle Leonard and brother of the late Francis Leonard, Pauline Blouin, Annette Fleck and Rita Taylor. LEONARD – Of Billerica, Dec. 7, John M. Leonard, Funeral Tuesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8:45 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Irene Church, Carlisle at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Lowell VNA – Hospice, 336 Central St., Lowell, MA 01852. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
