Obituary for John 'Jack' J. Doherty
John “Jack” J. Doherty, 86, of Hampton, died Sunday April 8, 2012 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital. He was born in Woburn, MA, March 27, 1926, the son of the late Charles E. Doherty and Kathleen L. (Hodge) Doherty and lived in Billerica, Vestal, NY and Yorktown Heights, NY before moving to Hampton in 1988. Mr. Doherty served in the Navy during WW II and was employed as a Civil Engineer for the Perini Corporation for over 20 years prior to his retirement. Besides his wife Ethel D. (Newman) Doherty of Hampton, Mr. Doherty is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Skonieczki and her husband David of Merrimack; his sons, James Doherty and his companion, Aggie Bachynski of Hampton and Michael Doherty and his wife Judy of Hanover; his sisters, Kay Reddy of Woburn, MA and Bette Crovo of Northampton, MA; also survived by 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Mr. Doherty was the father of the late John Doherty Jr. At the request of the family, funeral arrangements will be private.
