Obituary for John F. Beaton
John F. Beaton – Age 74, beloved husband of Virginia A. (Wirwicz) Beaton died Wednesday at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Brookline, June 2, 1938, the son of Angela R. (Pellegrino)(Beaton) Bursey of Medford and was raised in Medford and moved to Billerica 42 years ago. He served in the Army National Guard. Mr. Beaton was employed as a Supervisor for the U.S. Post Office, having retired after 36 years from the Somerville office. He later worked as a Custodian at the Shawsheen Technical High School and also at the First Congregational Church in Billerica. Mr. Beaton was the Cheerleading Coach at Shawsheen Technical High School, Bedford High School and currently at Lowell High School. He also enjoyed bowling and playing Texas Hold’Em. Besides his wife and mother, Mr. Beaton is survived by his daughter, Kerrie Winsor and her husband Richard of Greenland, NH; his son, Keith Beaton and his wife Cheryl of Dracut and 3 grandchildren, Hunter and Logan Winsor and Jeremy Beaton. BEATON – Of Billerica, Dec. 26, John F. Beaton, Visiting hours will be held Friday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday at the First Congregational Church, 18 Andover Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Lawrence, MA 01843. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
