John Dwyer, age 87, beloved husband of LuAnn (Jones) Dwyer died Wednesday at their home after a period of declining health with his family by his side.
He was born in Cambridge, April 29, 1939 a son of the late Joseph L. and Mary F. (Dunn) Dwyer and has been a Billerica resident since he was five years old.
John served in the US Navy from 1957 – 1959 then went on to serve with the Billerica Police Department retiring as a SGT. After retiring he began his second career with Buckland Security in Billerica.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children, John Dwyer of Rowley, Kathleen Dwyer of HI and Joseph of Billerica his five grandchildren, Keith Jr., Desiree, Emma, Amber and Mandy and two great-grandchildren, Alyana and Elijah. He was the brother of the late Joseph L Dwyer Jr and Catherine Buckland.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday June 20, 2026 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 9 – 11 a.m. followed by a Graveside Service at the Fox Hill Cemetery, 130, Andover Rd., Billerica at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
