Obituary for John C. Ferreira Sr.
BILLERICA – John C. Ferreira Sr., age 70, beloved husband and best friend of Edwina M. “Wina” (Williams) Ferreira with whom he celebrated 42 years of marriage on June 29, died unexpectedly Tuesday at their home.
He was born in Cambridge, June 14, 1945, a son of the late Manuel and Isabelle M. (Caio) Ferreira and lived in Somerville before moving to Billerica 35 years ago.
Mr. Ferreira was a Highway Foreman for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Transportation for 25 years.
He was a lifelong fisherman and Bruins fan, enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his camp in Weare, NH but his most cherished moments were spent with his grandchildren.
Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Joseph Ferreira and his companion Jackie Arsenault of Billerica; two daughters, Julie Hart-Lee and her husband David Lee Jr. and Mandy Yarnell and her husband Tim all of Billerica; two sisters, Dolores Canfield of Weare, NH and Maria Ferreira of Revere as well as two grandchildren, Katie Lee and John Hart. He was the father of the late John C. Ferreira Jr.

Ferreira Sr. Funeral Friday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. A Graveside Service will be held at the Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4 – 7 p.m.
