He took great pride in spending time with his children and grandchildren, particularly in watching them with their athletic activities. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jeanne, his two children John Barron and Marci Barnes, Marci's husband David Barnes, his sister-in-law Mary 'Maisy' Barron, sisters Arlene Champoux, Joan Connelly and husband Leo and Mary Staffier and husband Robert, brother Thomas Barron and many nieces and nephews.
