Obituary for John A. Tello
John A. Tello, age 74, beloved husband of Catherine D. (Goday) Tello died peacefully Sunday, May 8 at the Lahey Hospital in Burlington.
John was born in Boston on March 24, 1948, the son of the late Frank and Leonilda (Albano) Tello and was raised in the North End of Boston before moving to Medford and then Tewksbury 30 years ago.
Prior to his retirement, John was employed for 30 years at New Penn Motor Express and was a member of the Local 25 Teamsters, Riverside Yacht Club in Medford, and The Sons of Italy in Billerica.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his three daughters, Lisa Marie Campo of Haverhill, Kristin Travers of Somerville and Kimberly Haley of Brooklyn, NY; his brother, Joseph Tello of Tewksbury and five grandchildren, Anthony Paulino, Kylie Paulino, Joshua Haley, Nathan Travers and Landon T. Leavitt.
He was the father in law to the late Dana T. Campo who passed away in 2019.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his calling hours on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica. Interment will be private and at the convenience of his family. Memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to Youth EmpowerHouse, 7 William St., Haverhill MA 01830.
