Obituary for John A. Bishop Jr.
John A. Bishop Jr. - Age 74, husband of the late Rachel Y. (Robillard) Bishop died Friday at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Boston, March 22, 1935, the son of the late John A. Bishop and Amelia (Harrison) Bishop and lived in Medford before moving to Billerica in 1968. He was employed by the Boston Herald and later worked for MIT as a Security Guard until his retirement in 2001. Mr. Bishop had volunteered as an Umpire for the Billerica Little League.
He is survived by his sons, Michael Bishop of New Ipswich, NH and Fr. Marc Bishop the Pastor of Our Lady of Good Council in Methuen; his daughter, Ginette Giblin and her husband Michael of Billerica; his sisters, Ann Bishop of Brockton and Jane Anderson of Canterbury, CT. Mr. Bishop is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was the grandfather of the late Liam Giblin.

Funeral Monday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Church at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
