Obituary for John P. Sughrue
John P. Sughrue – Age 79, husband of the late Pamela M. (Murphy) Sughrue died peacefully Thursday, July 7 at his home.
He was born in Somerville, May 6, 1943, a son of the late James and Kathleen (Riordon) Sughrue and was raised in Medford and moved to Billerica 51 years ago.
John was the owner of Wheel-A-Meal Canteen Truck for 25 years and later worked at Hostess for 15 years before his retirement. He was a devout catholic attending Mass at many churches.
He is survived by his daughters, Kelly Burton of Lowell, Sheila Gillis and her husband Charles of Tyngsboro and Michele Fitzgerald and her fiancé Kevin Trundley of Norton; his sons, J. Patrick Sughrue and his partner Peggy Gallier of Tyngsboro and Paul Sughrue and his wife Stacy of Billerica; his sister-in-law, Ruth Sughrue of Bradford and is also survived by his 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late James, Donald and Paul Sughrue.
His Funeral will be held Wednesday from the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 9 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org Burial in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington
