Obituary for John J. Butler
John J. Butler, age 79, beloved husband of the late L. Eileen (Monte) Butler died Monday at Care one of Concord after a brief illness.
He was born in Charlestown, February 10, 1938, a son of the late Richard and Anne G. (Cronin) Butler and lived in Medford and Somerville before moving to Billerica 50 years ago.
Mr. Butler proudly served in the US Army from 1956 – 1958. He was a truck driver for Local #25 having driven for many companies and retired with the former Nations Way Trucking and was also a member of the Billerica Lodge of Elks.
He is survived by one son, John J. Butler Jr., USAF CMSgt (Ret) and his wife Eden Ann of Mt. Home, Idaho; two daughters, Kim Beech and her husband Doug of Hudson, NH and Stefanie Bishop and her husband Scott of Dracut; one sister Sr. Frances Butler SSND of Dorchester; two grandchildren, Allison Smith and her husband Jason and Courtney MacLaren and her husband Jonathan as well as three great-grandchildren, Kian, Gracelyn and Liam. He was the brother of the late Richard, William, Paul and Anne Marie Butler.
BUTLER – Of Billerica, formerly of Medford and Somerville, Feb. 5. Visiting hours will be held Saturday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. with a Funeral Service to be held at 1 p.m. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 186 Highland Ave., Somerville, MA 02143.
