Obituary for John A. Nicosia
John A. Nicosia, Age 51, died unexpectedly Sunday, January 24 at his home.
He was born in Stoneham, February 6, 1969, a son of Norma (Riberio) Nicosia of Billerica and the late John Nicosia. John was a lifelong Billerica resident and was a 1987 graduate of Shawsheen Valley Technical High School and was a self-employed flooring contractor.
In his spare time John loved to golf, he was a member of the Friday Night Golf League at the Billerica Country Club. When he wasn’t on the golf course you could always find him in the clubhouse, if you couldn’t see him you definitely heard him by his loud voice and infectious laugh. When it came to the fall or winter months, John enjoyed going to see the Boston Bruins and New England Patriots with the boys (you know who you are) and it was more enjoyable to be there with his son. John touched so many lives with his personality, humor, generosity, caring ways, always putting everybody else’s needs before his own. John would never let anyone know he was having a bad day because he was blessed with a great big smile.
Besides his mother, John is survived by his son, John Montgomery of Nashua, his brother, Paul Nicosia of Tewksbury; his sisters, Laurene Prideaux of Chelmsford and Danielle Nicosia of Billerica and his two grandchildren, Ella Montgomery and Aubree Dias. His uncle and aunt, Domenic and Debbie Stagliola, aunts, Loretta Hayes and Marilyn Benton and cousins, Christine, Wendy, Billy, Scott and Jamie.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Face masks will be required and attendees must register at,
