With heavy hearts we mourn the loss of Jodi Carol Johnson, age 54, beloved long-term companion and soulmate of Jackie Hayes, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at their home in Tewksbury.
Jodi, lovingly known as Auntie, was born in Woburn January 21, 1971, daughter of the late Virginia V. (MacDonald) Johnson and Ralph R. Johnson. Jodi spent most of her life in Billerica before settling in Tewksbury.
Jodi graduated from Shawsheen Valley Technical High School in 1989. She was an exceptional softball player and received many awards for her love of the sport and dedication to her team.
She was most recently employed as the Director of Recovery Services at Vinfen Corporation. Prior to that, she loved being a peer specialist working in the field with her clients.
Jodi spent her years bringing love and joy to those around her. Her smile and laugh were infectious; her heart was pure and her love for life was unmatched. Jodi had a smile that lit up a room. With all the struggles that she was presented with and worked so hard on, you would never know the pain she was in when you saw her. She was a great listener and always made you feel like you were the only one in the room. Her unwavering strength never failed to amaze everyone who knew her closely throughout her life.
Jodi was an avid sports fan. Her love for the Patriots and the Bruins showed loud and proud. Jodi loved watching games with Michael Quinn of Raymond, New Hampshire, who she lovingly considered a brother.
Jodi was also a longtime friend of Bill W. for almost 20 years. She had a deep love for helping others and touched the lives of everyone she met with warmth and kindness.
Jodi had an immense love for all animals. Often called “the dog whisperer”, there wasn’t an animal in the world that didn’t love her, especially her fur babies Dunkin, Maggie, Maizie and Pickles. Jodi loved spending time with all the dogs she walked and cared for, she would always refer to them as her “kids.”
Jodi‘s loving spirit is carried on by her devoted sister, Denise Johnson and her longtime companion Dave Hourihan of Billerica; her niece and best friend, Jenna Johnson of Billerica, whom she had a special bond that could never be broken; Diana Robinson of Tewksbury and James Robinson and his wife Emily of Nashua, New Hampshire, who lovingly referred to her as their bonus mom; Also, Aiden Thompson and Destiny Robinson, who she cherished, adored and considered her own grandchildren.
To honor Jodi‘s memory, a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Billerica Country Club from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jodi‘s name to New House Wildlife Rescue in Chelmsford. https://newhousewildliferescue.org/support-us.
May her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.
