Joan “Joni” T. (Considine) Towle, age 83, beloved wife of 47 years Harold J. Towle, whom she married June 19, 1976 at St. Theresa Church in Billerica, died Wednesday at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington after a period of declining health with her husband by her side.
She was born in Cambridge September 8, 1939 a daughter of the late Martin J. and Mary A. (Valleire) Considine and has been a resident of Billerica since 1962.
Joni was a graduate of Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School and attended the Norwich Free Academy in Norwich, CT.
She worked for BASF Corporation in Bedford retiring in 1998 and was also employed for the McNulty family of East Chelmsford at their businesses, as well as the Band Box Lounge for John and Grace Rivet.
Joni enjoyed reading, bingo, time on Cape Cod, baseball games, travel and winters in Florida on the ocean since 1998. She was a longtime member of the Billerica Emblem Club.
Besides her husband she is survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews. She was the sister of the late Verena M. LePage.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, July 14, at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish in St. Theresa Church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Billerica Scholarship Foundation, 365 Boston Rd. Billerica, 01821.
