Obituary for Joan M. Yokell
Joan M. Yokell – Age 68, wife of the late William F. Yokell died Sunday at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She was born in Boston, May 19, 1943, the daughter of the late John and Violet (Durham) Thistle and lived in Brighton and Allston before moving to Billerica over 30 years ago. Mrs. Yokell was employed for the Billerica School Department for over 25 years having retired as a Purchasing Agent. She was a communicant of St. Theresa Church and a member of the Women’s Club. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Henderson and Jennifer Daloia of Billerica; her son, Scott Yokell of Billerica; her sisters, Alice Foley of Southborough and Elsie Macari of Watertown. She is also survived 7 grandchildren and was the sister of the late James Thistle. YOKELL – Of Billerica, Dec. 11, Joan M. (Thistle) Yokell. Funeral Thursday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Church at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
