Obituary for Joan M. Grogan-Ryan
Joan M. Grogan-Ryan – Age 83, wife of Charles W. Ryan and the late Lawrence F. Grogan died Wednesday at the Life Care Center in Winter Haven, FL. She was born in Cambridge, May 3, 1929, the daughter of the late George and Thelma (Dickerson) Gurney and lived in Billerica for many years before moving to Haines City, FL over seven years ago. She was employed as a Nurse at the General Internal Medicine Department of Lahey Clinic for 25 years having retired at the age of 75. Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Craig Grogan and his wife Maureen of Boston; her daughter, Deborah Fearon of Billerica; her sisters, Nancy Druken of Haines City, FL and Patricia Kennedy of AZ; her brother, Robert Gurney of Haines City, FL; her daughter-in-law, Sandra Grogan of Townsend. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Joel Fearon, Nicholas, Justin, Shawn and Ryan Grogan and 7 great grandchildren. She was mother of the late Mark Grogan and the sister of the late George Gurney. GROGAN-RYAN – Of Florida, formerly of Billerica, Nov. 21, Joan M. (Gurney) Grogan-Ryan, Funeral Monday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 11 a.m. A chapel service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, E. Chelmsford at 12 Noon.
