Obituary for Joan "Joanie" I. Keefe
Joan I. Keefe, Age 57, passed away peacefully Thursday at her home surrounded by her family after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Winchester, November 12, 1963, a daughter of the late Robert W. Keefe Sr. and Ann J. (Doherty) Keefe and lived in Billerica all of her life.
Joan was employed as a School Bus Driver for A & F Bus Company in Billerica until her illness and was a member of the Billerica Lodge of Elks. She took great pride in spending time with her granddaughter Olivia. She loved spending time with her daughter Alicia, family and friends in New Hampshire and Maine, cookouts and family gatherings. She was an avid reader and loved the outdoors.
She is survived by her daughter, Alicia Homen of Chelmsford; her soulmate, Patrick Connolly of Billerica; her sisters, Kathleen and Carl Tarantino of Winthrop and Jean and David Foss of Billerica; her brothers, Bob and Lisa Keefe Jr and Billy and Paula Keefe both of Billerica, she was a loving Mimi to her granddaughter, Olivia Resteghini and many nephews and loving friends.
A Memorial Visitation will be held Monday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Mary Church at 10 a.m. Per current CDC and State Guidelines face coverings will be required at all venues and attendees must sign up to attend the Funeral Mass at https://cli.re/ccb-funeral-signup Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org .
