Obituary for Joan M. Carroll
Joan M. Carroll – Age 81, wife of the late William J. Carroll died peacefully in her sleep Friday November 26th, 2021 at the D’Youville Life & Wellness in Lowell.
Joan was born in Cambridge, MA June 18, 1940. Daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (McCarthy) Donnelly, Joan lived in Bedford, MA and Billerica, MA.
Joan was a Coordinator for the Lexington Housing Authority. In retirement, she moved to Kennebunk, ME to fulfill her lifelong dream of living by the ocean.
Joan is survived by her loving sons, William J. Carroll and his wife Lisa of Shirley, John Carroll of Westford, David Carroll and his wife Nanci of Billerica and Daniel Carroll and his wife Tara of Bedford; her loving daughters, Cynthia Carroll of Lowell, Karen Stocker of Billerica, Elaine Carroll and her wife Patricia of Columbia, SC, Lynne Sparks and her husband Christopher of Billerica, Leslie Lake of Nashua, NH, Janet Bauman and her husband David of Billerica and Joyce Higgins and her husband Joseph of Billerica; her sister, Carol Bailey of WI. Joan is also survived by her twenty seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and her many nephews and nieces.
To her dearest friend Jeanne Bauman, we will always cherish the memories, laughter and joy you shared with our Mother.
The Carroll family would like to thank the entire staff of D’Youville Life & Wellness in Lowell, Ma. Specifically, the Appleton Alzheimer’s Care Unit for the love and care they have shown our Mother and family.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Joan’s name to the Bedford Community Pantry, www.bedfordfoodpantry.org or the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
