Joan A. Monteiro, Sandy Bloom, age 83, a proud Mashpee Wampanoag died January 27, 2021 at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Boston, March 3, 1937 a daughter of the late Samuel and Florence (Greene) Monteiro and raised in Hyannis. She lived in Cambridge and Billerica before moving to Lowell 30years ago.
She is survived by one son, Toby Santos and his wife Joanne of Billerica; three daughters, Lynne Santos-Erinna and her husband Ramon Erinna of Haverhill; Renita Santos of GA and Toni Santos-Burnsed and her husband Julius Burnsed of SC; her longtime companion Phil Fuhs of Lowell. Grandchildren Talia, Ariana and Javier Erinna, Samantha, Jordan and Julian Burnsed and Kyle and Brandon Santos, great-grandchildren Taniz, Fenix, Michael, Isaiah and Solomon, and six siblings. She was the former wife of the late Charles F. Santos.
It being her wish all services were held privately and at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Home for Little Wanderers, Attn: Development, 10 Guest Street, Boston, MA 02135
