Jeremiah “Jerry” L. Coffey Jr. – age 85, beloved husband of the late Marilyn R. (Morgan) Coffey died peacefully Wednesday, March 4 at the Lahey Hospital in Burlington.
He was born in Somerville, August 4, 1940, a son of the late Jeremiah L. and Anna V. (Fogarty) Coffey and brother of the late Frank Coffey. He resided in Somerville for over 60 years before moving to Tewksbury then Billerica 17 years ago.
Jerry was employed by G&S Paper Company in Newtonville for 30 years as the Vice President of Sales. He was a Master Mason of Dalhousie Lodge F. & A.M. of Newtonville for 50 years and served as a Past Master.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Jackie Malcolm and her husband Jim of Tewksbury, his sons, Greg Coffey and his wife Excelle of Billerica and Daniel Coffey and his wife Kristin of Richmond, VA and his grandchildren, Jimmy, Caitlyn, Melanie and John.
Visiting hours will be held Monday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4-7 p.m. His funeral will begin Tuesday at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. and a graveside service will be held at the Mt. Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mt. Auburn St., Cambridge at 12 noon. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org
