Obituary for Jean E. McElrath
Jean E. (Kuhn) McElrath, age 80, beloved wife of Bruce W. McElrath died Saturday at their home surrounded by loved ones after an eight-year battle with Alzheimer’s complicated by a brief battle with cancer.
She was born in Boston, July 30, 1940 a daughter of the late Francis and Josephine (Perron) Kuhn and has been a Billerica resident since 1966.
Mrs. McElrath earned her RN at Boston City Hospital and was employed as an RN for several local nursing homes but most important to her was spending time with her family. Family to her included not just her immediate and extended family, but also friends and neighbors she had grown close to over the years.
Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Linda MacDougall and her husband Daniel of Billerica and Lisa Popek and her husband Benny of Laconia, NH; two sons, Bruce F. McElrath and his wife Nancy of North Londonderry, NH and Scott McElrath of Meredith, NH; as well as her grandchildren, James, Christopher, Michael, Jeffery, Matthew, Nickolas, Derek, Sydney, Jacob, Sarah and Rachel. She was also the sister of the late Francis Kuhn Jr.
A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday at the Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica at 12:30 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
