Obituary for Jean A. Kostka
BRADENTON, FL – Jean A. (Hickey) Kostka, age 68, beloved wife of Walter Kostka died Thursday at Beneva Lakes Healthcare and Rehab in Sarasota, FL after a long illness. She was born in Malden February 13, 1944 a daughter of the late George and Frances (Boutchie) Hickey and lived in Malden before moving to Bradenton, FL in 1998. Mrs. Kostka worked as a Jewelry Maker and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Karen Burdick and her husband Jon and Janet Shields and her husband Roger all of North Billerica; three brothers, Daniel Hickey of Pelham, NH, Butch Hickey of Beverly and Ralph Hickey of Middleton; three sisters, Joann Fitzpatrick of Malden, Pauline O’Leary of OH and Kathleen Gulino of Middleton; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Christopher Shields and Eric and Emily Burdick as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also the brother of the late George Hickey. KOSTKA – Of Bradenton, FL formerly of Malden, Nov. 1, Jean A. (Hickey) Kostka. Funeral Wednesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica, MA at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Theresa Church, Billerica at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4 – 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assn., 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA 02472.
