Obituary for Janice E. Balch
LOWELL – Janice E. (Hastings) (Hourihan) Balch, age 58, beloved wife of Michael H. Balch died unexpectedly Wednesday at Lowell General Hospital – Saints Campus. She was born in Stoneham, April 20, 1956 a daughter of Helen C. (Hewitt) Cooper of Tyngsboro and the late Richard C. F. Hastings and lived in Billerica until moving to Lowell 11 years ago. Mrs. Balch worked in Medical Billing for Burlington Eye Associates and was active with the Rainbow Girls. Besides her husband and mother she is survived by one son; Joe R. Hourihan of Billerica; one daughter Michelle L. Harland of Lowell; three brothers, Richard Hastings of Lowell, David Hastings of East Hampstead, NH and Kenneth Hastings and his wife Carolyn of Tyngsboro; her stepchildren, Jason Balch of Derry, NH, Sandie Halko of Pelham, NH and Kaytie Balch of Dracut; five grandchildren, Kayla, Julia, Matthew, Victoria and Zachary as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Tuesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Theresa Church, Billerica at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4 – 7 p.m. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Rockville, MD 20852.
