Jane C. Rutstein – age 79, beloved wife of James F. Rutstein died peacefully Thursday, July 11 at the Lahey Hospital in Burlington with her family by her side.
She was born in Boston, August 5, 1944, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Waggett) Dwyer and was raised in S. Boston and Dorchester before moving to Billerica 52 years ago.
Jane worked for many years and retired from the ABF Freight Company in 2007.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Jill Smith and Mike Boucher of Lowell, Kerry Rutstein of Nashua, NH and Jennifer Rutstein and her fiancé Cory Lombardo of Billerica, her sister, Rosemary Darling of Quincy. She is also survived by her five grandchildren Brendan Rutstein, Kaleigh Rutstein, Matthew Lombardo and Emma Smith and one great grandchild Jayden Rutstein. She was the grandmother of the late Kynzlee Boucher.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Robert, Jack and Philip Dwyer and her sister Eleanor Barry.
She also leaves behind her brother-in-law Edward Barry, David Rutstein and his wife Amy and sister-in-law Barbara Rutstein. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews. She leaves her very good friends Peggy Delaney, Karen Goodwin and Mary Kinsman also the Nickerson family.
A celebration of Jane’s life will be held at her family's home @ 34 Pondover Rd, Billerica on July 19,2024 from 2-7PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Perkins School for the Blind, www.perkins.org
