James K. Rooney, age 70, died Monday Nov 7, 2022, at Beverly Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born in Winchester, January 19, 1952, raised in Woburn and was a longtime Billerica resident. The son of the late James F. and Mary L. (Bucci) Rooney.
Jim was a graduate of Northeastern University with a master’s degree in Economics and was employed by the Commonwealth of MA for over 20 years, managing the Registry of Motor Vehicles prior to retiring in 2001.
He is survived by two daughters; Emily Rooney of Manchester, NH, Patricia Rooney of Billerica, and a son, James Rooney of Billerica; one sister Cheryl Tarpy of Milton. He was also the brother of the late Judith Letterie, Kevin Rooney and Karen Muzzy.
A memorial of his life will be held in January.
