James F. Harrington – age 79, beloved husband of Nancy M. (Morris) Harrington died peacefully Sunday, January 18 at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading with his family at his side.
He was born in Lowell, September 29, 1946 a son of the late James E. and Eileen D. (Muldoon) Harrington and lived in Billerica his entire life.
Along with his father and twin brother, Jim was the president of J.E. Harrington & Sons Inc. and J.F. Harrington in Chelmsford and Billerica. Jim enjoyed auto racing and boating at the family home on Lake Winnipesaukee. He was also a member of the Chelmsford Elks.
Besides his wife, Jim is survived by his sons, James M. Harrington and his wife Deidre of Billerica, Derek Carpenter and his wife Stacy of Billerica and Dennis Carpenter and his wife Leslie of CT and his grandchildren, Jameson Harrington, Zachary and Max Carpenter, Camden Carpenter and Nicolas and Derek Berube.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Jan. 21 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Andrew Church, Talbot Ave., N. Billerica at 12 noon. His burial will take place at the Fox Hill Cemetery in Billerica. Memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s name to the charity of one’s choice.
