
Obituary for Jacqueline E. Thissell
Jacqueline (Jackie) E. Thissell, Age 90, died Sunday at Emerson Hospital with her family at her side.
She was born in Washington, DC, May 11, 1931, a daughter of the late Charles Sipes and Martha F. (Simoneau) (Sipes) Snow and lived in Stoughton before moving to Billerica 57 years ago.
Jackie attended school for Fashion Design and was employed at the Marshalls Distribution Center for over 20 years before her retirement. She will be remembered for her beautiful singing voice which she shared in choirs and during church as well as other talents passed down to her children.
She continued gardening into her 90’s and kept “Hallmark” in business by never forgetting a birthday or special occasion all while raising six children and participating in their activities such as being a Campfire Girl Leader and CCD teacher. She could be seen volunteering at Marshall Middle School, the American Textile Museum and Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
She is survived by her children, Jacqueline Thissell of Haverhill, Eric Thissell of Billerica and Catherine Thissell of Acton and her six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Frank, Clifford, Suzanne and Robert Thissell.
A visitation will be held Friday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 8:30-9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Andrew Church, Talbot Ave., N. Billerica at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org
