Obituary for J. Paul McCarthy
J. Paul McCarthy, age 93, beloved husband of Mildred G. (Ogara) McCarthy died Saturday at Emerson Hospital in Concord after a brief illness.
He was born in Cambridge, February 15, 1929 a son of the late James P. and Sara (McAteer) McCarthy and has been a Concord resident since 1973.
Paul graduated from Rindge Technical High School in Cambridge and went on to serve in the United States Army during the occupation of Japan from 1946 - 1947. Upon returning he attended Northeastern University graduating with a degree in Business Administration and was a longtime employee of New England Telephone as a Computer Systems Staff Supervisor and more recently as an Internal Auditor.
He was a member of the Stonybrook Fish and Game Club in Westford but especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Besides his wife he is survived by four children, Lisa McCarthy of Concord, Patricia McCarthy of Billerica, Kathleen Hestand and her husband Bruce of Chelmsford and J. Paul McCarthy of Concord as well as his two granddaughters, Julie and Stacie Hestand. He was the father of the late John McCarthy and brother of the late Claire Magner.
It being his request all services will be held privately and at the convenience of his family.
