Obituary for Irene T. Doherty
BILLERICA – Irene T. (Smith) Doherty, age 63, wife of Francis Doherty died Sunday at Kindred Hospital in Peabody after a long illness. She was born in Somerville, August 12, 1948 a daughter of the late Arthur K. and Lillian G. (Dineen) Smith and lived in Somerville prior to moving to Billerica in 1974. Mrs. Doherty worked the Accounts Payable Dept of several local companies and was an active member of the Billerica Emblem Club. Besides her husband she is survived by three sons, Francis Doherty Jr. and his Fiancé Karen Gray of Peabody, Arthur Doherty of Billerica and Edward Doherty and his wife Nicole of Tyngsboro; one sister, Muriel Boyden of FL and four grandchildren, Dalton, Morgan, Alora, and Dorothy Doherty as well as her close friend Barbara Forbes. She was also the sister of the late Kenneth Smith and Audreymay Thurston. DOHERTY – Of Billerica, formerly of Somerville, Dec. 11, Irene T. (Smith) Doherty. Funeral Friday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 9 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary Church Friday at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
