
Howard P. Haumann, age 85, beloved husband of the late Anne L. (Phillips) Haumann died Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Lawrence General Hospital after a period of declining health.
He was born in Boston, September 19, 1936 a son of the late Howard P. and M. Margaret (Peters) Haumann and lived in Hyde Park and Chelsea before moving to Billerica 55 years ago.
Howard served in the National Guard for several years. A passion of his was carpentry and woodworking making beautiful pieces of furniture for family and friends. He worked as a Switchman for New England Telephone and then Verizon. Other hobbies of his were hunting and shooting at the “club”. He was a life-time member of the Woburn Sportsman’s Association and the NRA. Howie and his beloved late wife Anne loved to take cruises and travel together. They enjoyed their many trips to Walt Disney World where they were always kids at heart.
He is survived by one son, Joseph Haumann and his wife Jenifer of Billerica; three daughters, Annemarie Haumann and Jean Haumann both of Billerica and Karen Wilder and her husband David of Hudson, NH. He is also survived by four grandchildren: David and Daniel Wilder and Olivia and Zachary Haumann. He is survived by siblings Mary Szalkowski of Chelsea, Edward Haumann and his wife Paula of Pembroke, Carolyn Pallidino of Tewksbury, Madeline Paradis of Maine and Joseph Haumann and his wife Nancy of Saugus. His is survived also by his sister-in-law, Leona Haumann; his brother-in-law, William Burge as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late William Haumann and Catherine Burge and brother-in-law to the late Anthony Pallidino and Gary Paradis.
Funeral Wednesday from the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 11:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish in St. Theresa Church, at 12 noon. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4 – 7 p.m. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
