Obituary for Herbert W. Campbell
BILLERICA – Herbert W. Campbell, age 92, beloved husband of the late Marion F. (Driscoll) Campbell and the late Evelyn R. (Latham) Campbell died Sunday at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Hudson, MA, January 25, 1925 a son of the late Perry and Gladys (Guyer) Campbell and lived in Cambridge before moving to Billerica 63 years ago.
Mr. Campbell served in the US Army during WW II in the campaigns of New Guinea and Luzon and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Ribbon and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was employed as a shipper for General Motors.
He is survived by two daughters, Debra A. Walsh and her husband Larry of Wells, ME and Diane L. Poloian of Epping, NH; three sons Richard W. Campbell and his wife Jean of GA, Kevin H. Campbell and his wife Ellen of Middleborough and Wayne P. Campbell and his wife Sharon of Somersworth, NH; one sister Irma Noyes of Reading as well as 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. He was the brother of the late Connie Jones.

Funeral Wednesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Theresa Church at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4 – 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the DAV, 180 Pond St. Tewksbury, MA 01876. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
