Obituary for Helen G. Elder
Helen G. Elder, Age 64, wife of David E. Elder died Sunday at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Winthrop, February 1, 1957, a daughter of the late Richard A. and Theresa G. (Gillis) Maynard and was raised in Billerica and moved to Winthrop and later back to Billerica.
Helen worked in the Collections Department at BARD for 27 years prior to her retirement.
Besides her husband, Helen is survived by her daughter, Theresa Elder of Billerica; her sons, David Elder of Londonderry, NH and James Elder of FL; her brothers, Clyde Maynard of Hartford, CT, John Maynard of New Britain, CT, Richard Maynard of Everett and Lucas Maynard of Billerica; her sisters, Janice Roy of Billerica, Susan Maynard of Woburn and Marlene Bickford of Billerica and was the Gammie to her four grandchildren. Helen was the mother of the late William Elder and sister of the late Denise and Mary Maynard.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday at Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Andrew Church, Talbot Ave., N. Billerica at 10 a.m. Per current CDC and State Guidelines face coverings will be required at all venues and attendees must sign up to attend the Funeral Mass at https://cli.re/ccb-funeral-signup
Her burial will take place at the Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. Memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s name to Autism Speaks, www.autismspeaks.org
