Harry C. Jordan, age 88 died peacefully on August 10, 2024 in Boca Raton, FL. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, January, 23, 1936 to the late Anna (Giordano) and Philip Levy. He served our country in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged. He studied at the RCA institute in NY, beginning his career as a technical illustrator and writer for defense system manuals at several different companies in the Boston area. He studied further at MIT and Raytheon Service Company to enhance his knowledge of electronics. His skills in graphic design, writing and illustration eventually led him to the printing business and then on to a part ownership of a commercial printing company in Massachusetts. He took additional classes at Northeastern University in business management. His personality helped him excel at sales. Upon semi-retirement, he dabbled in a variety of small businesses, before moving to Florida and rejoining the commercial printing industry prior to retirement.
Harry enjoyed sports and was an excellent athlete. He was even invited to try out for the Brooklyn Dodgers while on active duty in the Air Force. He frequently played racquetball and baseball but his favorite sport became golf. He was proud to achieve a hole-in-one on St. Patrick’s Day at South Winds in Florida. He loved technology, dabbled with electronics and had many related hobbies, including being a ham radio operator, K1SSX.
Most of all Harry enjoyed life and people. Spending time with family and friends was what he enjoyed most. He could tell a good story, had a great sense of humor, and was an interesting conversationalist. Harry also knew how to enjoy a good Manhattan. He was proud of his family, of being from NY, and of his Italian heritage.
He is survived by a daughter Carole (Richard) Binder of Hebron, NH, a son Michael Jordan, grandsons Nicholas (Larissa) and Matthew (Morgan) Binder and a granddaughter Julianna Jordan. He leaves behind his partner Olga Quinn of Boca Raton, FL. He was preceded in death by a daughter Kathleen P. Jordan, a son John P. Jordan, a sister Patricia Levy DiBlasio and his parents.
A visitation will be held Saturday, August 17, at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. followed by a graveside service with military honors at the Fox Hill Cemetery, 130 Andover Rd., Billerica at 12 noon. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to Trustbridge Hospice Foundation.
