Obituary for Grace F. DeCoste-Cyr
Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother Great Grandmother and Foster Mother Billerica – Grace F. DeCoste-Cyr - Age 94, Beloved wife of Frank Cyr and the late Gordon DeCoste passed away Thursday, May 28 surrounded by her daughters and granddaughters Jessica Galaid and Lauren Lemack. She was born in Charlestown, August 10, 1920, a daughter of the late Thomas D. Ryan and Lillian (Mills) Ryan and lived in Charlestown and Somerville before moving to Billerica 30 years ago. Known as Amazing Grace, Mrs. DeCoste-Cyr was a Foster Parent for The Home for Little Wanderers for 55 years and fostered 98 children. Besides her husband, Mrs. DeCoste-Cyr is survived by her daughters, Pamela Galaid and her husband Allan of Billerica, Debra Lemack and Patricia Perry also of Billerica, Marie Rose of W. Medford and Grace “Dolly” Spellenberg of Somerville; stepmother of Jay Cyr of Manchester, NH and Frank Cyr Jr. of FL; her brother, Charles Ryan of Amherst, NH and is also survived by 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and foster children. She was the sister of the late, Dorothy Levasseur, Obelina Hines, Thomas and William Ryan. DeCoste-Cyr – Of Billerica, May 28, Grace F. DeCoste Cyr, Funeral Monday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 9 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. DeCoste-Cyr’s name to The Home for Little Wanderers, 10 Guest St., Boston, MA 02135. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
