Obituary for Glen P. McAlpin
Glen P. McAlpin – Age 79, beloved husband of Shirley (Dietrich) McAlpin died Saturday at their home surrounded by his family. He was born in Pryorsburg, KY, September 26, 1935, a son of the late Clarence and Opal (Champion) McAlpin and lived in Medford before moving to Lexington 40 years ago. Mr. McAlpin served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement he worked for Xerox and later became one of the owners of the former ADR Inc. in Woburn and the Lowell Brewery Exchange. Besides his wife, Mr. McAlpin is survived by his daughter, Deborah Ranucci and her husband William of Dracut; his sons, Jed Krol and his wife Mary of Woburn, Jeffrey Krol of Arlington and Glen McAlpin Jr. of Dracut; his sister, Mary Brown of Michigan and is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was the grandfather of the late Glen Ranucci and brother of the late Robert McAlpin, Mae Qualls and Fran Peterson. McAlpin – Of Lexington, Nov. 15, Glen P. McAlpin, Visiting hours will be held Wednesday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 5-8 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 7:45 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
