Obituary for Gertrude 'Pat' Newfell
Gertrude “Pat” (Hickey) Newfell – Age 83, loving wife of Anthony T. Newfell died Saturday at their home surrounded by her family. She was born in Cambridge, February 15, 1931, a daughter of the late William P. and Bridget G. (Hallisey) Hickey and lived in Cambridge before moving to Billerica in 1955. Mrs. Newfell was a member of the first graduating class of Matignon High School in 1949. She was employed as a Cafeteria Manager for the Billerica School Department having worked at the Kennedy School for over 20 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by her sons, Philip Newfell and his wife Pam of Billerica and Timothy Newfell and his wife Heidi of Newburyport; her daughter, Doreen Parent and her husband Richard of Wolfeborough, NH; her sister, Doris Cummings of Medford and is also survived by five grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late William P. Hickey Jr. and the sister-in-law of the late George Cummings. NEWFELL – Of Billerica, Nov. 15, Gertrude “Pat” Newfell, A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at St. Andrew’s Church, Talbot Ave., N. Billerica at 12 Noon. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley, 360 Merrimack St. #5, Lawrence, MA 01843. Burial in Lowell Cemetery.
